I was happy to see all the energy and caring that went into the cleanup project over at the bridge. The young folks are the ones who will change the way things are into what they should be. People who do not accept that neglect and invisibility is where families belong can change things and make them better.
Such a shame to see people living in those conditions but that is the reality of their present life circumstances Andre, I and those wonderful young people know that the future is in the hands of youth and in the hands of folks of good heart like those good people who showed up and generously joined in the spirit of help and hope.
Despair drags people down and robs them of motivation to try and do better. Drugs, alcohol, and inability to deal with so many problems on a constant basis continue the slide. What does a person do to rise up from that situation? They need help, and they need hope. We all saw the hypodermic syringe that was down there. That’s a sign of despair and loss of hope, and especially abandoning hope to face destruction and death.
All the good people who showed up and helped clean that place send a message that someone actually cares, that someone is willing to do what is necessary regardless of what others may do or not do. So seeing the action by the good people who were there was an uplifting thing.

The AJ6 from the package featured a black base with metallic gold accents. The majority of people loved it, and the “DMP” Air Jordan VI is still a greatly sought after sneaker today. Today, the autopsy for DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein, took place, and the results on how he died will not come for weeks.'How Did DJ AM Die' Question Not Answered Yet But people will ask how DJ AM did die over the next few weeks, and will likely come up with something that has to do with drugs. When DJ AM was found dead, police reportedly found a crack pipe and pills in his apartment, according to the Associated Press. The famed disk jockey had famed battles with drug addiction throughout his adult life, but had appeared to be winning them recently.

In fact, DJ AM was about to host his own MTV intervention show "Gone Too Far" in October, which he promoted at the Television Critics Association this summer. But drugs will be pointed to as the answer to how DJ AM died, at least until autopsy and toxicology results come back. The music world is filled with stars who are killed by their addictions. DJ AM's world consisted of helping people party to popular music. Although he wasn't a singer, his spinning skills allowed him exclusive access to the music world and many of its icons, like Jay-Z and Jennifer Lopez.

Though many will have theories about how DJ AM did die, many are probably surprised that he lasted this long - and not just because of the drugs. He narrowly survived a deadly plane crash that took place almost one year ago, in which four of his friends were killed, but DJ AM survived along with Blink 182's Travis Barker.

DJ AM did not die from the crash, or from his past drug abuse, so it looked like he could survive anything. If it was drugs that killed him, questions will arise as to why he slipped off the wagon again.

Ghostface Killah Has A New Marvel Comic Book …It’s Dropping Next Month!!!

Ghostface Killah, one of the best rappers to come out of the Wu Tang Clan has expanded his horizons. While everyone else in rap is doing a clothing line or has a new Cologne, face has a new comic book entitled Cell Block Z illustrated by Chris Walker from Marvel comics and screenwriters Marlon Chapman and Shauna Garr. It gonna be one to have in your comic book collection trust.

Ghostface is being immortalized in a comic book of his own. Cell Block Z is a new comic book about a heavyweight boxer named Cole Dennis. Dennis ends up being wrongfully accused of murder in a scheme to turn inmates into weapons. He takes on the alias Ghostface, and starts to fight literally and figuratively for his freedom. The book is illustrated by Chris Walker from Marvel comics and screenwriters Marlon Chapman and Shauna Garr helped Killah write it. According to the Hachette Book Group, his comic book will be released by the end of this month.

Last year his Wu Tang affiliate Method Man dropped a comic book of his own. In “Method Man,” he becomes the character Peerless Poe, a detective who works with a team of “method men” to solve street crimes. Poe utilizes an ax-gun and super strength to fight the battle between good and evil. David Atchinson assisted Meth with the writing and Sanford Greene did the artwork.

Despite the improvements in the local economy thanks to financial assistance to introduce new retail stores and other employment development to the area, South Los Angeles remains known for its notorious gangs.The tension between Black and Latino gangs has led to increased racially-motivated gang violence since the early-1990s. The percentage of African-American residents in South Los Angeles is about half of what it was in 1990, as Latin American (i.e. Guatemalan, Salvadoran, Honduran, and Mexican) immigrants became the majority, as in many of the older sections of Los Angeles. However, violent crime in this region, although still high, has been decreasing since 1992. In recent years, there's been an influx of white and Asian families moving in some communities of South Los Angeles due to the process of gentrification and revitalization.

It's now 2009 and absolutely nothing has changed in California, racism is still alive black on black crimes still occur all-over. As I'm sure most commonly asked question would be why'd I name the turtle "DARFUR"?

-DARFUR=The War in Darfur refers to the civil war taking place in Darfur, Sudan. Unlike the Second Sudanese Civil War, this is believed to be an ethnic, rather than a religious war. The conflict began in February 2003. There are various estimates on the number of human casualties. One side of the armed conflicts is composed mainly of the Sudanese military and the Janjaweed, a Sudanese militia group recruited mostly from the Afro-Arab Abbala tribes of the northern Rizeigat region in Sudan. These tribes are mainly camel-herding nomads. The other side is composed of rebel groups, notably the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army and the Justice and Equality Movement, recruited primarily from the non-Arab Fur, Zaghawa, and Masalit ethnic groups. The Sudanese government, while publicly denying that it supports the Janjaweed, is accused of providing financial assistance to the militia, and of participating in joint attacks targeting civilians.

On 31 August 2006, the United Nations Security Council approved Resolution 1706 which called for a new 26,000-troop UN peacekeeping force called UNAMID to supplant or supplement a poorly funded and ill-equipped 7,000-troop African Union Mission in Sudan peacekeeping force. Sudan strongly objected to the resolution and said that it would see the UN forces in the region as foreign invaders. The following day, the Sudanese military launched a major offensive in the region.

In March 2007 the UN mission accused Sudan's government of orchestrating and taking part in "gross violations" in Darfur and called for urgent international action to protect civilians there.
On 14 July 2008, prosecutors at the International Criminal Court (ICC), filed ten charges of war crimes against Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir, charges that included three counts of genocide, five of crimes against humanity, and two of murder. The ICC's prosecutors have claimed that al-Bashir "masterminded and implemented a plan to destroy in substantial part" three tribal groups in Darfur because of their ethnicity.In February 2009, Darfur's UNAMID tried to persuade the rebel group Justice and Equality Movement (JEM)and the Sudanese government to sign a peace agreement. In March 4, 2009 the ICC issued an arrest warrant for president al-Bashir, without the genocide charges.

My greatest fears of being a father came to realization on May 9, 2008, the day Keylee Jazel Ball was born. I was probably more scared then her and I was already here for 18years. Isn't that ironic? My feelings quickly changed when she grabbed my finger and looked at me, as if "EVERYTHING" was OK. She would give me this look like -Dad, I am here now and where do we go from here? The rest came naturally. Men are made to be protectors of our children. When we step away from that, we are acting contrary to our nature and are taking a first-class ticket to our own self-destruction. Me personally I love fatherhood and wouldn't go back in time for anything, it just fits me like a pair of new kicks :-)

My daughter taught me everything I know about being a father. I learned from her that no matter what is in your past, your children are right here in your present moment, looking up at you, calling you "DADDY" needing you and you needing them.

The key to being a successful dad is a balanced mind, body, and soul. The demands will knock the strongest, richest, most handsome cat off his feet. My daughter expresses total loyalty to my heart, keeps it warm . . .and breaks it at the same time (Laughing Out Loud).

My daughter Keylee & I bond like no other father and daughter I've seen thus far, we're like magnets attracted by one heart, sometimes we sit up all night watching movies, laughing, cuddling, even staring each other to sleep. She is the limelight of L I F E. Shocked, that on this very day last year my beautiful daughter was just being born. Now she has become so alert over this year which will eventually become a drastic change for me but I'm pretty sure i will adapt.

In conclusion to this all it is now 12:00AM May 9, 2009 and my daughter is officially 1 years old, I'm sitting here reminiscing over all the good times we've had. She is laying here next to me while I'm typing this blog for her, "HOW MANY FATHERS ACTUALLY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY SO????? ". I've been here since day one and I'm never going anywhere we are stuck with each other with the life sentence, she is my best friend, as well as my beautiful daughter, she is someone who looks up too me for any and everything possible and that will never STOP!

I first became a father at such a young age- 18. To be honest, I was scared and overwhelmed. But when my daughter was born, I still felt like something amazing had happened. She was so fragile and beautiful and I couldn't believe that I had actually helped bring her into the world.

Life isn't always easy, maybe it never is, but she gives me tremendous hope and my LOVE for her is deeper than any love I've ever known. I try not to worry about her well-being, but as a father it's an obsession- you just want to protect them from everything.

With my daughter, I've done the most growth as a dad. I think that has alot to do with where I am in my life right now, and also the fact that so much of her immediate care is my responsibility. When my daughter jumps into my arms and flashes me with her cute little smile, I know in my heart it's all good. Fatherhood comes with alot of pressure, no question, but it makes you a much better, much more gentle man.

Santa Inoue’s Santasistc! is the focus of an upcoming with Monchhichi. Largely unknown outside of Asia, the Monchhichi franchise has been wildly popular as collectibles, achieving great success thanks to a number of difference releases and styles over the years that often mimic real-life counterparts. AIKO Love Monster Exhibition Recap

Showcasing a new exhibition of mixed media works, Tokyo-born, Brooklyn-based artist AIKO introduced Love Monster, her largest solo showing to date. Drawing inspiration from urban and Kawaii (Japanese for “Cute”) culture, AIKO set forth on a journey filled with a wide spectrum of media including spray paint, brushwork, collage, stenciling, and silk screening techniques. Love Monster will run through May 16th, 2009 at the Joshua Liner Gallery in New York City.

So my birthday was the 19th of April for those who didn't know, started my day off special with my dad, step mother and siblings, by the way its also my step sister Morgans birthday. We enjoyed the afternoon with the scorching sun and seafood in the marina. VENICE!!!!! always eye-catching and something going on as usual, we all decided to walk around since the weather was quite breezing by.

Hours pass met a few friends got some gifts, stuff load of Phone calls and all that other good stuff. The evening drifted with joy and more to expect throughout the hours, got a lucky phone call from "ASHLEY" who said she would like to take me out for dinner of my choice . ."SO BE IT" time was ticking so -H O O T E R S- was the only option at the time, but we enjoyed ourselves engaged in interesting conversations and laughed the night away. In conclusion to this post i would like to thank everyone for showing love on another day moving forward "MY BIRTHDAY".
