A careful observer of the natural world, Tiffany Bozic's ability to capture and translate the graceful, complex and organic order of her surroundings- at times allegorically - remains one of the most salient aspects of her work. "Bedtime Stories represents a celebration of life's hardships and achievements," Bozic says. "I am fascinated with the beautiful intricacies and evolution of life [and] I have always been drawn towards finding some kind of common thread or language that binds us to and separates us from nature and each other."
In this latest series, she applies her trademark stains of acrylic washes to the natural grain of maple panel to render resonant stories based on observations in her travels and research while an artist in residence at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, where she helped establish their new Artist in Residence Program and exhibited in 2007.
Bozic has spent the majority of her life living with and observing nature, a habit she picked up as a child where she was raised on a farm in rural Arkansas. She has exhibited in galleries throughout the United States and Europe, and spoken at the 2007 Semi-Permanent International Arts and Design Conference in Sydney, Australia. Her artwork has been featured in publications such as BLK/MRKT One and Two, Flaunt and Fourteen Hills.
